If I thought 'OMG! Eight reales are overpriced! I can get a Morgan dollar for twenty dollars!' I probably would never own an eight reales. Being a working musician but only a moderately casual coin collector I don't spend as much money on a single coin as I do on musical equipment.
The least expensive one, an 1838 Mexico Republic 8 reales, is $150. They are all professionally graded and come in protective cases. A coin dealer here in Maryland has a box full of Spanish colonial and Mexico Republic 8 reales. It makes at least some sense to me that the guitars in the photos in the OP would be expensive.īut in a way it is similar to old coins. The 1954 Silvertone is a very early Danelectro from before the pickups were housed in lipstick holders.
The National Glenwood 98 and Kay Barney Kessel are among the top of the line of those brands. The guitars in the photos that the OP posted in his OP are not particularly junky and appear to be very clean and original.
